Sister Sabrina Highwater

¤ Haunted Lighthouse Keeper, Come Hell or Highwater ¤

Sabrina's deadpan demeanor hides a razor-sharp wit. Shadows haunt her, hers is an unsettling impression juxtaposed with her amiable exterior. The more time spent in her presence, the greater opportunity for whispers to arrive causing disturbing thoughts to cling to the back of one’s mind; musings of the Void and mutterings of the dead. In this day and age, depthsbringers are rare. Those like Sabrina—devoted to a familial practice of spiritwalking—are rarer still. For ones familiar with Kul Tiran traditions and superstitions, she stands apart. Perhaps some dead men do tell tales…

Profile

¤ Warding & Protections ¤

' Every little death helps... '

Sabrina goes through great lengths to ward against the deceptive forces which she wields. Her first defense is a blessed tidal pearl, which serves as a powerful amulet. The scrolls on her depthsbringer mantle are crafted with enchanted inks, scrolls containing glyphs and runes infused with elemental magic to be a barrier against psychic and dark forces. Even her robes have been meticulously embroidered with spellthread by her mother, sigils and symbols which filter out the influence of the Void. She’s fastidious in her rigorous training exercises beyond simply avoiding partaking in inebriating consumables. There’s a dedication to her monastic traditions which involve fasting, chanting, ritual bathing, breathing techniques and meditation to mentally condition her mind. As a generational depthsbringer, her mind port is one past down to her from her ancestral spirits who also sit on her shoulder, helping her ward against treacherous whispers, corruption, and mind control.

The Tidewarden Scepter

Crafted from sturdy driftwood from Deadwash, carved by ancient sages with spiraling tentacles and Hullwarding runes. A purple deathsilk ribbon twines around the stave, affixing carefully inked scrolls. Aloft the tidesage relic rests on an aged bronze kraken sculpture. Its center is empty. When activated, a slit is formed. Its iris is voidformed obsidian, a priceless relic of the Black Empire which gazes upon its target with mindbending terror.

Carved Bone Ring

Worn on her right ring finger, this bleached white ring is made from human bone. Along its sides are detailed carvings of a whale and a great tempest. This piece of jewelry is a generational relic crafted from the remains of her great-grandfather. It serves as an ancestral protection totem, used for both spiritwalking and channeling his protective force.

Little Bag of Horrors

A lilac cross-body bag of holding with a flap. Every so often its fabric encrusted living eyeballs open, look around, and shut quickly; the only external hint that this is a creature mimicking a bag. Inside, jagged teeth line the opening, from which loud screams and curses can be heard. Opening the bag brings a wave of existential dread along with a long, cartoonish tongue which hangs out. It’s rarely open for long.

History

¤ Phantom's Watch ¤

' Embrace the rising tide. '

Strategically located between what once was Theramore and Northwatch Hold, Phantom’s Watch is an off-shore lighthouse near Dreadmurk Shore. The Highwater family originally hails from Mariner’s Strand before they volunteered to assist the Lordaeron refugees in the establishment of Theramore. They have maintained the lighthouse her whole life. It has served as both a warning sign and guide, Phantom’s Watch was once an integral part of Theramore’s funerary customs. Its tidesage keepers would call the spirits of recently fallen Kul Tirans back to perform the Ritual of Release.Previous lighthouse keepers include Sabrina’s father, Brother William Highwater, who fell during the Theramore bombing. He was survived by his wife, Sister Christine Highwater, who is the current full-time keeper. Sister Christine hasn’t traveled to Kul Tiras since the Schism, but is very timely with her correspondence to the Shrine of the Storm regarding her important work. Sabrina considers the lighthouse home. For more detailed history about Sabrina, please inquire in-character.
